Destination North Coast was excited to deliver the 2024 North Coast Tourism Symposium and North Coast Tourism Awards with co-hosts Port Macquarie-Hastings Council on Thursday 1 August 2024.

The theme of the 2024 North Coast Tourism Symposium was Creating World Class Experiences

What constitutes a world-class tourism experience? How can you make your tourism experience more memorable? Authentic? Unique? Can elements of story-telling and local history and culture be brought in to the experience you are delivering.

This year’s North Coast Tourism Symposium program set out to explore changing trends and attitudes to travel and the experience economy. Our keynote speakers and presentations challenged the concept of value creation through the execution of exceptional experiences and the need for an individualised, customer-centric approach to understanding and fulfilling the unique needs and desires of visitors.

Destination North Coast in partnership with Business NSW, was delighted to again offer our industry stakeholders the opportunity to participate in the North Coast Tourism Awards.

The 2024 North Coast Tourism Awards acknowledged growth, entrepreneurship, and celebrated the success of tourism businesses throughout the North Coast Destination Network region.

Participating in these prestigious awards offers a gratifying journey. It allows businesses to introspect on the goals, strategies, and visions that have propelled their success. The insights garnered from this process serve as catalysts for driving growth and ensuring the longevity of their ventures.

Destination North Coast with destination co-hosts, Tweed Shire Council and Tweed Tourism Company, delivered the annual North Coast Tourism Symposium on Thursday 27^th July 2023, at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff. With 140 delegates in attendance, the conference had a jam-packed program of business and tourism experts ‘Redefining Normal’ and unpacking trends and changes in our industry.

Thank you to all North Coast visitor economy stakeholders who attended and supported this conference.

The North Coast Tourism Awards are presented in a partnership between Business NSW and Destination North Coast with destination co-hosts Tweed Tourism Company and Tweed Shire Council. The Awards were held at Plantation House, Duranbah on 27 July 2023.

The event celebrates and rewards success and recognises growth and entrepreneurship.

The annual North Coast Tourism Symposium & Awards Gala Dinner was held in Grafton on 28 July 2022.

Jointly hosted by Destination North Coast and Clarence Valley Council, the North Coast Tourism Symposium & Awards Gala Dinner presented as an important opportunity to bring the tourism industry together after such a tumultuous period.
